THYELLA OF THE WORLD

Gonimbrasia zambesina (Walker, 1865)

THYELLA Wallengren, 1858

TheThyella are members of the Bunaeini tribe of Subfamily Saturniinae, Family Saturniidae. These moths fly in Africa and surrounding islands. Moths are usually classified as Bunaea Hubner, [1819] 1816 with Angelica being a junior synonym for Thyella Wallengren, 1858 and Thyella being a junior synonym for Bunaea.

There are additional listings under Bunaea, and some of the Imbrasia, Gonimbrasis and Nudaurelia species are also listed below. Those genera (listed in brown) should take preference over Angelica and Thyella.
