DISTRIBUTION:
The Adafroptilum tricoronatum moth
(wingspan: males: 48-51mm; females: probably larger) flies in
central Zimbabwe.
The ground colour is light brown, a little more tawny-brown in the median
area of the forewing. In the male, the forewing apex is a little produced
and is rounded. Only the pm line is visible. The marginal area is
a little darker brown. There are three linear "points of light" with the
uppermost being a large crescent.
On the hindwing, the pm line is vetigial and there are two miniscule
"points of light".

Moths have been
observed in December.

It is hoped that this alphabetical listing followed by the
common name of the foodplant will prove useful. The list is not
exhaustive. Experimenting with closely related foodplants is
worthwhile.
