This moth is also classified in the Imbrasia genus.
I believe the most recent nomenclature change places this species in the Montanaurelia genus.
Nudaurelia carnegei larvae feed upon
Protea.
Rolf Oberprieler writes, "Its foodplant is
Protea, by the way, the record of Brachystegia
in Pinhey (1972) is wrong as neither
I. carnegiei nor Brachystegia occur in
Transvaal (South Africa).
