DISTRIBUTION:
Nudaurelia flammeola flies in
Mt. Meru, Tanzania, Africa.
Thierry Bouyer confirms
it from
Malawi.
FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:
The
Nudaurelia flammeola moth probably flies in the months of November and December.
The specimen depicted at the top of the page is from Kilinga village, 1400m, Dec. 3. 2004.
ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:
Eclosion is from underground pupae.
Both sexes fly at night with the males coming in to lights around midnight, the scenting time of the females.
