TAXONOMY:Superfamily: Bombycoidea Latreille, 1802 |
"Moon River" |
This moth is in the O. paveci group but should be easy to distinguish due to its small size and reduced contrasting patterns on the male's wings (female quite contrasting). In the male, the basal area is an almost uniform dull yellow-beige, slightly darker brown in its outer half. The male median area is mostly darker brown and the pm area seems somewhat muted by pale grey suffusions.
Orthogonioptilum ndokiensis larval hosts are unknown.

The pronunciation of scientific names is
troublesome for many. The "suggestion" at the top of the page is
merely a suggestion.
There are many collectors from different countries whose
intonations and accents would be different.
The species name ndokiensis
indicates a specimen type locality in Ndoki PN, Sangha, Central African Republic.
