DISTRIBUTION:
Orthogonioptilum modestum 
(wingspan: males: 53-59mm; females: 78mm) flies in
Gabon: Belinga and Makokou; and 
Cameroon: Mbalmayo; and 
possibly in Rwand: Burundi.
In the males there is a single point of light on each wing and there is an 
abundance of violet-grey shading except in the medium area
which is a very even dark brown or orangey brown. The transverse line is 
vestigial at best.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:
 This moth 
flies  in March, and probably again in May-June and in October-November.
Orthogonioptilum modestum larval hosts are unknown.
