DISTRIBUTION:
Orthogonioptilum umbrulatum
(wingspan: males: 56mm; females: 76mm) flies in forested zones
of the northern plateau of Gabon:
Ogooue-Ivindo: Makokou (308m) south to
Haut-Ogooue: Okondja (335m).
The antennae, body and basal areas of the wings are beige.
The ground colour is burnt umber and the median zone is chocolate
brown and the cell has two visible points of light, ringed with ochre.
The am and pm lines are well marked.
FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:
This moth
flies in April and December and possibly mid way between those two
months.
Orthogonioptilum umbrulatum larval hosts are unknown.
