DISTRIBUTION:

Pseudaphelia flavomarginata flies in
Tanzania?? and
northeastern Zambia: Eastern: Nyika Plateau Forest (PD).

Thiuerry Bouyer had at one time equated it with P. apollinaris, but it has recently been elevated to full species status with a continuous yellow band along the outer margin.

ECLOSION:

Adults eclose from subterranean pupae.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Pseudaphelia flavomarginata females emit an airbourne pheromone and males use their highly developed antennae to track the scent plume at night to locate the calling females.

EGGS, CATERPILLARS, COCOONS, AND PUPAE:

Mature larvae leave the host plant to excavate tunnels into the earth. Pupation is in a subterranean chamber.
