DISTRIBUTION:

Actias ningpoana ningtaibaishana (wingspan: males: 109mm; females: mm // Mfwl: 47-62mm; Ffwl: 62-70mm) flies in
China: Shaanxi: Tai bai shan Mountains; Tsinling Mountains; at elevations of 1500-1900m.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS: Actias ningpoana ningtaibaishana probably broods continuously and the preferred larval foodplant is probably Rhododendron. Thus far specimens have been observed on the wing in April-May-June-July-August-September. There are possibly additional flight months. ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING: Females extend a scent gland from the posterior tip of the abdomen to call in night-flying males.
