DISTRIBUTION:

Antheraea rumphii ceramensis (wingspan 160-180mm) flies in Indonesia: Island of Seram, Province Malaku.

It hails from the island of Geser (near the southeastern tip of Seram I., which is the easternmost known distribution of the genus in Southeast Asia.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

Moths are on the wing in October and there are probably multiple broods. Larval hosts are unknown.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

Females attract the night flying males with an airbourne pheromone.

Larvae need warm (30 C), humid conditions.
