DISTRIBUTION:

Antheraea vietnamensis (wingspan: males: 151-160mm ; females: 165mm) flies in
Vietnam: Tonkin, Mt. Fan-si-pan, Cha-pa (= Sapa), 1600-1900 m., 22.20šN, 103.40šE.

This species possibly also flies in Laos and as far west as Myanmar.

This species is very similar to A. scida, also from northern Vietnam. Scida males have a slightly more acute forewing apex, and the hyaline areas on all wings are slightly smaller in scida which has an intense reddish brown pm stripe on the ventral surface of all wings.

It is hoped that this alphabetical listing followed by the common name of the foodplant will prove useful. The list is not exhaustive. Experimenting with closely related foodplants is worthwhile.
