DISTRIBUTION:

Loepa martinii flies in
Borneo: Sabah, Mt. Trus Madi, at elevations near 1100 m.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

The Holotype was taken April 15, 2003.

Possibly this species has multiple broods, but I have no confirmation of that, other than the image top of page from December. Cissus, grape and Virginia creeper would likely prove to be suitable hosts.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call at night. Males fly into the wind and track the pheromone plume with their sophisticated antennae.

EGGS, LARVAE, COCOONS AND PUPAE:

The species name is honourific for collectors K. & B. Martini.

Larval Food Plants

It is hoped that this alphabetical listing followed by the common name of the anticipated foodplant will prove useful. The list is not exhaustive. Experimenting with closely related foodplants is worthwhile.

Parthenocissus.......
Vitis

Woodbine
Grape
