DISTRIBUTION:

Lemaireia schintlmeisteri (mfwl=33mm; ffwl=41-49mm) flies in Mindanao: Mindanao, Bukidnon, 40 km nw Maramag, Dalong-dong, 800 m, Philippines.

(Nachr. entomol. Ver. Apollo 10 (3): 240; HT in BMNH, London).

Generally this is quite a dark species, but at least one female shows more of the yellow typical of other Lemaireia species.

Females have neen observed at light more frequently than males, suggesting to me that the calling time may be near dawn.

(Etymology: named after Alexander SCHINTLMEISTER, Dresden, Germany, who, together with Karel CERNÝ, was the first to discover this species.) The geus name, Lemaireia, is honourific for Claude Lemaire.
