DISTRIBUTION:

Loepa septentrionalis (wingspan: males: 82mm; females: probably larger) flies in China: Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu and Hubei and probably in neighbouring provinces.

This moth appears quite similar to Loepa kuangdongensis and may be a more northerly synonym. If the moths are the same, I do not know which name would have priority as they were apparently both described in 1938.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

I suspect the species is multiple brooded. Larval hosts are unknown. Dave Rolfe reports a flight in July in Sichuan, China.

Larval Food Plants

It is hoped that this alphabetical listing followed by the common name of the suspected ? foodplants will prove useful. The list is not exhaustive. Experimenting with closely related foodplants is worthwhile.
