DISTRIBUTION:

The Saturnia (Rinaca) bieti flies in China and Myanmar = Burma: Kachin. This species is often classified as Caligula bieti.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

Adults are on the wing in May.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

Females extend a scent gland from the tip of their abdomens to "call" the males. Males use their antennae to hone in on the airbourne pheromone.
