DISTRIBUTION:

The Solus parvifenestratus sinjaevi moth flies in Laos and Vietnam.

The subspecies is named after the collector, Victor Sinyaev = Sinjaev, from Moscow, Russia.

According to Brechlin, 2007, this moth is the same as the nominate subspecies. Visit Solus p. parvifenestratus for more information (extended range) and images.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

Females extend a scent gland from the tip of their abdomens to "call" the males. Males use their antennae to hone in on the airbourne pheromone.

Larval Food Plants

Listed below are primary food plant(s) and alternate food plants listed in Stephen E. Stone's Foodplants of World Saturniidae. It is hoped that this alphabetical listing followed by the common name of the foodplant will prove useful. The list is not exhaustive. Experimenting with closely related foodplants is worthwhile.
