(White, 1862)

Brahmaea (Bramophthalma) hearseyi, Thailand

Brahmaea (Bramophthalma) hearysi, the Indonesian Owlmoth, flies throughout Indonesia: Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Thailand and Sarawak.

The forewing eyespot is well developed and all regions are clearly demarcated, and the parallel and alternating light/dark lines in the hindwings occupy a major portion of the wing surface.

Privet would be a likely choice as a larval host.

There are several subspecies, some of which have recently been moved to full species status.
