The following Saturniidae are anticipated in Bulgaria. There are possibly some omissions, and possibly some erroneous inclusions. Bill Oehlke

Aglia tau, (Linnaeus, 1758); most likely where there is Beech: Beech Distribution in Bulgaria. Shumen plateau, Central and East Forebalkan (C and E) Balkan Range, Vitosha Mts. Golo Bardo Mts., Lyulin Mts., Ruy Mts., Lozenska Mts., Sredna Gora Mts., Rhodopi Mts. from 100 to 1300 m alt.

Antheraea yamamai; possibly survives as an introduced species.

Perisomena caecigena, Kupido, 1825

Samia cynthia; possibly survives as an introduced species.

Saturnia pavoniella, (Scopoli, 1763)
Saturnia pavonia meridionalis is now considered a synonym of pavoniella

Saturnia spini, (Denis & Schiffermuller, 1775); Sandanski (Thanos)
