Tim Dyson:
Night Vision Photography
Catocala meskei, Peterborough, Ontario, August 16, 2004,

Note the "face" on the thorax. None of the forewing markings are really
accentuated. The "upper two teeth" of the postmedial line, which are
often quite long and sharp in other species,
are not greatly extended. The white submarginal line is white and
evenly serated.

In the above image, meskei (lower right) lacks the ventral hindwing
discal lunule evidenced in the species (possibly briseis)
feeding upper left.
