Adeloneivaia isara Series: Males: Verso

Here are images of male Adeloneivaia isara specimens (verso) from Costa Rica.

Males tend to be small (36-54mm) with most specimens having a wingspan between 42 and 46mm. The most distinctive trait, besides the small size, is the accentuated hump on the hindwing costa from the body to the midpoint. The costa then continues straight or slightly concave to the apex. On the hindwing there is a preapical diffuse arc running from the costa to just below the cell.

The forewing has a pinkish-red (diminished in the yellowest specimens) basal-median area and a rectangular black patch in the cell.
