Dactyloceras widenmannii differs from lucina with much wider forewings, a rounded forewing apex and a straight outer margin.
In lucina from west central Africa, the forewings are narrow, falcate, with produced forewing apex and a very concave outer margin.
Dactyloceras widenmannii flies in mountainous regions of Tanzania, in the Amani, East Usambara Mountains, at elevation of 900 m, during October.
