Andy Fulks writes, "I know that lunas fly around here (central Indiana, Monroe County) starting in June as I have seen them in Bloomington at our Boy Scout camp."
Sally Roth writes, "As of last June 15, 2002, the New Harmony Indiana area (Posey County) was going strong with Polyphemus, Luna, Promethea, Io, Regal, Imperial, Cecropia---and even Cynthias, because of all the ailanthus trees growing wild.
"Though much of IN is giant agri-fields, the SW corner has nice big stretches of mesic forest; sugar maples and silver beeches and oaks, many close to virgin, plus lots of black walnut and tulip poplar (2nd growth mostly). Caterpillars of all above moths and many others are THICK, you see big fuzzy imperials and scary regalis caterpillars regularly."

An Antheraea polyphmeus caterpillar was found in the fall in Porter County. It cocooned, and the cocoon was kept indoors at normal room temperature. The moth eclosed February 13, 2004.
John Beck reports a Citheronia regalis and an Antheraea polyphemus male from "June 7, 2006, Ferdinand, Indiana (behind Comfort Suites Hotel), Dubois County."
