DISTRIBUTION:

Loepa nepalensis (approximate wingspan: males: 88mm; females: ) flies in
Nepal: Deorali Danda, 1 km N Yamphudin, 2000 m.

This is a relatively small species with large forewing ocelli and a slightly concave outer margin. The apex is not produced.

A black, slightly concave, double, subterminal line seems inwardly adorned with a series of rain drops.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

I suspect this species has multiple broods. Specimens have been collected in June at 2000m.

Cissus, grape and Virginia creeper would likely prove to be suitable hosts.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call at night. Males fly into the wind and track the pheromone plume with their sophisticated antennae.
