DISTRIBUTION:

Salassa belinda aeos (wingspan: males: 90mm; females: ??) flies in western Nepal: 113km north of Dailehk at elevations around 2350m. This species is in the lola group.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

Specimens have been taken in early May, so there is probably a single April-May flight at that elevation.

Salassa belinda aeos possibly feeds on Prunus species.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

EGGS, LARVAE, COCOONS AND PUPAE:

Larvae are probably covered with spine-bearing warts and spin loose cocoons near the ground amongst loose debris.

Larval Food Plants

It is hoped that this alphabetical listing followed by the common name of the possible foodplant will prove useful. The list is not exhaustive. Experimenting with closely related foodplants is worthwhile.
