DISTRIBUTION:

Salassa belinda (wingspan: males; approximately 90mm; females: ??) flies in eastern Nepal: Koshi, Terhathum area, at elevations around 2900m. This species is in the lola group.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

Specimens have been taken in May-June.

Salassa belinda possibly feeds on Prunus species. Dave Rolfe indicates a June flight at high altitude in Nepal.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

EGGS, LARVAE, COCOONS AND PUPAE:

Larvae are probably covered with spine-bearing warts and spin loose cocoons near the ground amongst loose debris.
