The Saturniidae flight is all over here on Prince Edward Island for another season and I've been quite busy putting out larvae the last few weeks. Still have some eggs to hatch in next couple of days.

I'm rearing the six local Saturniidae this season:

Actias luna, Anisota virginiensis (pink striped oakworm), Antheraea polyphemus, Dryocampa rubicunda (rosy maple), Hyalophora cecropia and Hyalophora columbia. I also have a batch of cecropia x columbia hybrids on the go.

First cynthia cocoon hatched the other night, a male, and I expect pairings near end of month. Robert Muller of Connecticut has been filling cynthia egg orders for me.

********News Flash*************

My father, Don Oehlke (OH-KEY) in New Jersey (908-439-2462), has just informed me that large Callosamia angulifera larvae are spinning at this time. He is not sure if they are going to overwinter or emerge in two to three weeks.

Minimum order is four cocoons at $5.00/cocoon plus shipping. Order by phone only and please consider time zone differences when calling.

He is also expecting a fresh pairing of Citheronia splendens sinaloensis (tonight) and may be offering eggs if all goes well.

********NEWSLETTERS:***********
