Mothly Newsletter June 2021

June 16, 2021 to July 15, 2021

Hi All,

I have been swamped with work since early June:
Up late at night to check lights;
Up early in morning to check for pairings and get cages in before birds have a feast;
Dispatching egg orders when notified that suppliers have eggs available;
Rcording and notifying customers that eggs have been dispatched;
Sewing up new sleeves; Setting out hatchling larvae.

I have scarcely had time for anything else.

Egg shipping in Canada is done for the season. In the USA I expect that the only species we will still be shipping as of July 5, 2021 are Citheornnia regalis and Eacles imperialis, both from Ohio, but there could still be some surprises.

Today, July 3 I sleeved out over 100 Hyalophora columbia larvae at Southern Kings Construction site; Sleeved out about fifty Hyalophora cecropia larvae on my own trees and then travelled to Sid Watts' property to sleeve out cecropia, polyphemus and luna.

All my cocoons have hatched so there will not longer be any late nights or early mornings, but there will still be larvae hatching every day until about middle of July.

I still have to sew more sleeves.

Hope all of you that are rearing are having a good time of it.

When I have time I will post a summary of the shipping dates and source locations for the various species we have shipped thus far.
