The days are getting noticeably longer here on PEI, and I will begin taking livestock out of cold storage around Mother's Day in May.
I will begin taking egg orders in early March as some species will be flying in the southern states in March.
If you wish to place an order, please always provide the following with your enquiry:
1) complete name and shipping address;
2) species and quantities desired; eggs are almost always sold by the dozen, and I will soon be posting prices on this page;
3) your preferred payment method; personal check works fine for me, but payments need to be sent in advance of shipment; Paypal also works fine,
but if you are in the US, I need to initiate the request for funds in US dollars from here, and you need to have those funds in your Paypal account before you
approve the request. With Paypal there is a 5% Paypal transaction fee. I need the email address associated with your Paypal account to initiate the payment from here,
so please be sure to indicate that when you place an order;
4) please indicate also when you would be ready to begin receiving eggs. I do not want to send them or notifiy you they are available before you are ready to
receive them.
Should you change your mind about ordering eggs after you have already sent me a request, please notify me that you no longer want eggs.

I have recently received some hybrid images. Jonathan Drouin of Quebec writes, "Here is a hybrid of H. Euryalus x H. Cecropia. He's a result between H. euryalus female from California and H. Cecropia male from New Jersey. The larva were reared on Prunus Virginiana (Choke Cherry)."

I hope again to begin offering eggs in March from the southern states, and should be able to offer most of the regular Saturniidae species
thoughout the spring and summer at various times. I am looking for egg suppliers of Arizona and Texas and California species that are not on my usual list
which is expected to include the following species: Actias luna; Antheraea polyphemus; Automeris io; Callosamia angulifera; Callosamia promethea;
Citheronia regalis; Dryocampa rubicunda; Eacles imperialis; Hyalophora cecropia; Hyalophora columbia; Samia cynthia. Possibly there will also be some Sphingidae eggs
available.
We began shipping luna eggs on March 20 from Alabama (two orders). A second batch of luna egg orders was shipped
March 29 (four orders); more luna April 11, also from Alabama.
Samia cynthia eggs are available from Alabama as of April 2.
Hyalophora cecropia eggs are available from Alabama as of April 5.

Quite often during the summer months we have non-diapausing Actias luna and Antheraea polyphemus cocoons from the more southerly
states. We also often have pupae of Heraclides cresphontes, the giant swallowtail, for shiping during the summer.

I had some computer problems in late December, 2017, and potentially lost some files and images that I had not uploaded. Fortunately my oldest son and my youngest daughter have helped me to recover much of what had not been posted. I am now working with a new computer and will try to upload as many of the older, updated files and images as well as try to keep up with the new submissions.

Currently I am very busy with new submissions from Brazil (just received what I am pretty sure is an undescribed Automeris from , and have been working on creating files for the new species designated in 2017 (Paradirphia) and for early 2018 (Cerodirphia). I hope to have those files and images upladed by end of March.

I recently received an image from Brazil which I think is of an undescribed species. It is posted on the Minas Gerais page with the folowing caption:
Sylvia Barroso continues to surprise me with images from Ceara, Brazil. There may be some new species in that mix as well, and I am adding species names to the checklist on a regular basis. I have quite a few Sphingidae images from Ceara that I also need to process.

Sphingidae Express
I received some nice images (posted) of Proserpinus lucidus flying in far western states in March. This species can fly when it is quite cold.
Derek Bridgehouse recently sent me an image of Lintneria eremitoides from Scott City, Scott County, Kansas. I have created a thumbnail checklist page for Scott County and surrounding counties.
Derek also informed me that Hemaris diffinis is comprised of two different clades, and many of those specimens from southern Canada, previously thought to be diffinis, are now recognized as Hemaris aethra which had been synonymized with diffinis. I have updated appropriate files and created an H. aethra file.
I also received a very nice image (posted) of a Sphinx kalmiae larvae, burrowing in forest floor litter, from Barnum, Carlton County, Minnesota, courtesy of Gary Walton. Gary took the photo last summer/fall.
