Hi All,

Thanks to Jeff Boettner and David Wildhagen who sent copies of missing Mothly Newsletters. The newsletters have been uploaded to archives.

I'm much looking forward to trip to New Jersey, leaving P.E.I. on October 20, and getting to meet some of you along the way and in New Jersey. Thanks to all who have extended a welcome to stay at their homes.

I have now completed the County by County (Parish by Parish-Louisiana) Distribution Maps for all states with Saturniidae populations. Please have a look at your own state and advise me of anything that should be added or seems to be amiss.

I will do first burn of North American cd mid October. See details for purchase end of newsletter.

I have added an email link to Bruce Edley from California. Bruce rears some of the local butterflies in California and occasionally offers live pupae. See "Livestock for Sale" section to access email and get on Bruce's "waiting list". *********SPECIAL REQUESTS*********

Save your empty cocoons for Carol Neeves. She works with the silk and would like all the empties you can send her. Carol has just set me a write up with pictures to show what she does with the silk (now posted in Members' Articles section).

Janet Hightower is also looking for empty cocoons. She is doing a project on making rattles out of cocoons, and promises us some images and an article after she makes some noisemakers.

Help wanted: I am putting together a membership North American Butterfly Site. The introduction is at http://www.silkmoths.bizland.com/ButterflyIntro.htm

I am seeking high quality jpg mages of adult butterflies and their larvae. I have a good start, having just scanned 300 slides from Leroy Simon and also have received some beautiful images from Steve Graser and promises of many to comes from Jim Snyder.

Membership in "Caterpillars Too" will $10.00 U.S. for members of WLSS. This rate will be in effect until December 31, 2003. Free membership to those who can supply high quality images of species not on site.

My Sphingidae of the Americas Site at http://www.silkmoths.bizland.com/usatable.htm and my Catocala website at http://www.silkmoths.bizland.com/catocala.html are on rented webspace. If you offer dried specimens for sale or operate some other Moth/Butterfly Enterprise and would like to sponsor those sites via an annual rate of $5.00/main page for each page ($1.00 for individual species) that your banner and link to your email and site are posted, please let me know. Both sites get much traffic.

North American Saturniidae cd available to members only at $15.00 U.S. which includes postage. State by state listings, pooled images for each species. Saves you airtime if that is an issue. Please note, this IS NOT the cd of the World's Largest Saturniidae Site which I hope to have ready for Christmas, but it does feature all of the North American species with county by county distribution maps. It is a real bargain at the price. I am sure you will be pleased.

Contract agreement is that copies of North American Saturniidae cd will not be distributed or copied for sale or redistribution by recipients.

For those of you who also follow Sphingidae and Catocala developments, I have completed checklists for Brazilian Sphingidae courtesy help from Catarina da Silva Motto and have received nice images of Catocala irene from David Wikle, Catocala junctura from Pierre Legault and Catocala cara larva courtesy of David Rodrigue. I have Catocala relicta and concumbens eggs this fall.
