Anisota stigma fly from mid June to early August.
Eacles imperialis probably fly from mid to end of July in localized populations.
Automeris io fly from early June to mid August.
Callosamia promethea fly from mid May until mid August; possible second brood.
Hyalophora cecropia fly from mid May to early August, predominantly in May-June.
Samia cynthia may still be in Rhode Island and would fly mid to late July where there is ailanthus.
Actias luna fly from mid May probably until end of June; there is at least a partial second brood, starting in July.
Antheraea polyphemus flies from late May until early July; there may be a partial second brood in late July or early August. Ryan St. Laurent reports a final instar larva feeding in Providence County, October 20, 2009.
Member Ryan St. Laurent writes, "I live in Washington County, RI, and have seen the following here: A. luna, H. cecropia, A. io, D. rubicunda, A. polyphemus, C. promethea (common)."
He indicates the last record for C. regalis was in 1939, and there are historical records for Citheronia sepulcralis. I do not think either of the Citheronia species are currently present in Rhode Island.
