Bolivar Province, Ecuador

Please note: Locations of towns and cities are approximate.

Much of the province has a cool, 'sierra' climate, but the part in the lower foothills has a warm, tropical climate.

San Luis de Pambil is a small town in Bolivar Province in the warm Coastal Lowlands of Ecuador, or at least in the foothills of the Andes mountains as they slope downwards towards the coastal lowlands.

This province is poorly explored for Saturniidae and there may be more species present than indicated as rapidly changing elevation probably creates several different biomes.

Those species followed by (l) are reported by Luigi Racheli; those species followed by (*) are reported by Claude Lemaire; those species folowed by (?) are unconfirmed but I feel they may be present.
