Located in northwestern Ecuador, bordered to the west by the Pacific Ocean, to the north by Esmeraldas Province, to the east by Esmeraldas, Pichincha and Guayas Provinces, and to the south by Guayas Province, Manabi is host to many Saturniidae species.
