The genus Rhodirphia belongs to the Hemileucini Tribe of Subfamily Hemileucinae in the Saturniidae Family. Larvae have urticating spines, and members of this genus are found in South America.
P indicates an image is available. The first country listed is the specimen type locality.
In the case of carminata, "Mexico" was probably used very generally. The moth does not fly there.
