DISTRIBUTION:

Adelowalkeria eugenia (wingspan: males: 67-79mm; females: 105-108mm) flies in
French Guiana: Saint-Jean-du-Maroni, Kaw, Regina;
Panama;
Venezuela: Yaracuy, Distrito Federal, Miranda, Monagas, Bolivar;
Guyana: Omai, Kartabo;
Suriname: Brokopondo (TT);
Brazil: Mato Grosso;
Colombia: Huila; and
Ecuador: Napo (CB), Morona-Santiago (CL), Orellana (SG) and probably Pastaza (WO).

Perhaps the images from Caripe, Venezuela, are A. flavosignata. I cannot tell for sure from the photos, and I believe both have been documented in Monagas.

This moth has slightly less purple banding on the abdomen when compared to flavosignata. Males of this species also have a yellow instead of brown frons.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

Moths are on the wing in May-June, August and November, and possibly at other times.

Larval hosts are unknown.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

Females probably call from 10:30 pm until 12:30 am and then make their ovipositing flights from 10:30 pm until 2:00 am over the next several nights.

EGGS, LARVAE AND PUPAE:

Larvae descend tree trunks at maturity to dig subterranean chambers in which to pupate.
