Updated as per James P. Tuttle's The Hawk Moths of North America, January 24, 2014 Updated as per personal communication with Thomas Jantscher (Ceratomia amyntor, July 4, 2013); January 24, 2014 Updated as per BAMONA; January 24, 2014 |
This page is inspired by and dedicated to Thomas Jantscher who has sent many beautiful images of Sphingidae from several Iowa counties. Thomas sends
sighting data for Ceratomia amyntor in Woodbury County.
A "WO" after the species name indicates that I have no confirmed reports of this species in Woodbury County, but I (William Oehlke) expect that these moths are present.
Please help me develop this list with improved, documented accuracy by sending sightings (species, date, location), preferably with an image, via email to Bill Oehlke.
Please also forward your sightings to BAMONA, an excellent on-line reference.
