Peter sent me this beautiful image of a Sphecodina abbottii
larva and writes, "Attached is a photo of a caterpillar I found on
my Boston Ivy last week.
I am located in Waterloo, Ontario.
It seems to have an "eye" at the top of its head and has a
fleshy type skin.
Length is approx. 5 cm. and is ~8 mm diameter.
"I found it very interesting to observe how it is adapted to
grasp the stalk, rather than the leaf."
