Note the yellowish tint of male and absence of maroon fringe on his wings. This is typical of summer stock, i.e., adults that have emerged from eggs deposited in the spring and from cocoons that have not overwintered.

The female has the purer green and the maroon fringes typical of moths that emerge from cocoons that have overwintered.

Note the slightly wider antennae of the male.
