Eacles imperialis pini

I use a flatbed scanner to obtain my larval images. I just lay the subject across the scanner and hope it doesn't move during the scanning process.

I did four scans before getting this fairly nice image.

Larvae began to pupate September 7. I have them indoors now in large plastic tubs. When they turn a drab olive green and leave the pine boughs, I put them in pupation buckets.
