Hybrid female
Hybrid female
Dominique writes, "We were much waiting for (isabellae x sinensis) female hybrids
because of the sexual dimorphism of sinensis parents. In fact, female
hybrids look just like others in the series (Graellsia x Actias). Most hybrid
characters appear with male hybrids which are always much more
coloured compared to pastel coloured females. Here too, ovogenesis
is lacking."
Hybrid male, normal
Hybrid male, cold induced red eye
Dominique writes, "Two mâle specimens (over 51) which have both been
cold driven have red instead of salmon pink normal eye spots on the wings! This colour
aberration has been noticed in none of our male or female (Graellsia
x Actias) hybrids."
