"Hi!

"I found the biggest caterpillar I have ever seen a few days ago (August 23, 2003) at my cottage. I am in Eastern Ontario (Ottawa, the caterpillar was found about a hour south west from here near Perth, Ontario) The caterpillar was approx. 4 inches long and about 3/4 inch wide.

" I actually found it when I went down to the dock and saw something floating in the water. It was so large at first I thought it may be part of a dead watersnake, but the I saw it moving and realized it was a caterpillar and I rescued it from its impending doom in the water (especially since we disturbed a giant bull frog that was sitting nearby, perhaps loooking for dinner)."
