The genus Cinommata belongs to the Subfamily Hemileucinae in the Saturniidae Family.
The single species within this genus lacks an antemedial line while the postmedial line is diagonal and "bent", and the subterminal line is straight and almost parallels the outer margin.
Larvae have urticating spines.
