GONIMBRASIA OF THE WORLD

Gonimbrasia belina courtesy of Leroy Simon.

GONIMBRASIA BUTLER, 1878

See Imbrasia Genus also as well as Nudaurelia Genus and Acathacampa and Angelica Genera.

Gonimbrasia is sometimes classed a subgenus of Imbrasia.

There are many species from other genera listed as Gonimbrasia on the internet. Below the Gonimbrasia listing I have included them with their proper genera.

P indicates an image is available.

This page has been updated to reflect listings in Thierry Bouyer's Catalogue of African Saturniidae.

I suspect many of the subspecies currently listed under belina will someday be synonymized. A few may be elevated to full species status as may be the case with cocaulti. There is probably little to differentiate them other than geography.
