HYPERMERINA LEMAIRE, 1969

The genus Hypermerina belongs to the Subfamily Hemileucinae in the Saturniidae Family. Larvae have urticating spines.

H. kasyi has a darker olive grey-green ground colour while H. rubrojunensis is much more of a reddish orangey-brown.

Orangey specimens from low elevation (250m) in Ecuador may be a different species from the high elevation (2600m) specimens in Peru.

H. rubrojunensis is described from two specimens taken at 1050m in Junin, Peru.
