ITHOMISA C. Oberthür, 1881

The genus Ithomisa belongs to the Subfamily Hemileucinae in the Saturniidae Family. Larvae have urticating spines.

Males are diurnal.

Members of this genus are often still associated with Heliconisa and Dirphia, but Ithomisa have two instead of three-segmented labial palpi.

The forewing is more slender and squarer than in Eudyaria.

I. lepta and I. umbrata may be the same as I. catherina.

P indicates an image is available. The first country listed is the specimen type locality.
