MELANOCERA SONTHONNAX, 1901

The Melanocera belong to the Bunaeini tribe of Subfamily Saturniinae of the Family Saturniidae. These moths fly in Africa.

Melanocera comes from "black horn" referring to the black antennae on the adult moths. The larvae all pupate underground.
