Ferguson recommended that the three North American species have separate genus status in Calosaturnia.
The Asian species, including lindia below, are often listed in subgenus Rinaca. There are more of them listed on the Rinaca page than are listed below.
Caligula and Neoris are closely related genera.
Some species were at one time placed in genus Eriogyna: (cognata, pinratanai, pyretorum, etc.), which is now recognized as a junior synonym of Saturnia. Moths from this group are generally now placed in subgenus Saturnia.
The three North American species albofasciata, mendocina, walterorum) are sometimes treated as a subgenus, Calosaturnia. Tuskes, Tuttle and Collins follow this placement.
