FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:Actias ningpoana ningtaibaishana probably broods continuously and the preferred larval foodplant is probably Rhododendron. Thus far specimens have been observed on the wing in April-May-June-July-August-September. There are possibly additional flight months.
ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:Females extend a scent gland from the posterior tip of the abdomen to call in night-flying males.![]()
