DISTRIBUTION:

Antheraea rumphii buruensis (wingspan 145-195mm) flies on the island of Buru.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

Moths have been taken in October and this species possibly has multiple broods. Larvae likely prefer oaks.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

Females attract the night flying males with an airbourne pheromone.

Larvae need warm (30 C), humid conditions.
