DISTRIBUTION:

Carnegie's Emperor, Nudaurelia carnegiei (wingspan: males: 138mm; females 132mm), flies in
Zimbabwe and
Mozambique.

This moth is also classified in the Imbrasia genus.

Nudaurelia carnegei larvae feed upon Protea.

Rolf Oberprieler writes, "Its foodplant is Protea, by the way, the record of Brachystegia in Pinhey (1972) is wrong as neither I. carnegiei nor Brachystegia occur in Transvaal (South Africa).
