DISTRIBUTION:

The Lemaireia inexspectata moth flies in central Vietnam.

(Etymology: this species is externally extremely similar to the related L. luteopeplus and L. chrysopeplus, and specimens have been mistaken and published as L. luteopeplus aureopeplus in an earlier publication. Only during a routine dissection series of the male genitalia of several specimens the new species was quite unexpectedly discovered, due to its very distinct genitalia.)

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

EGGS, LARVAE, COCOONS AND PUPAE:

Listed below are the primary food plant(s) and alternate food plants listed in Stephen E. Stone's Foodplants of World Saturniidae. It is hoped that this alphabetical listing followed by the common name of the foodplant will prove useful. The list is not exhaustive. Experimenting with closely related foodplants is worthwhile.
